McNair Law Firm today announced that the firm’s Managing Shareholder and CEO, David Tigges, has been elected to a three-year term to the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Aquarium on Charleston Harbor. The appointment was effective September 2011.

The Charleston aquarium is one of several civic and charitable organizations where Mr. Tigges has volunteered as an officer or director. Others, past and current, include the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, Heritage Classic Foundation, Beaufort County Task Force on Economic Development, Mayor's Task Force for Hilton Head Island's Future, The Sandbox Interactive Children's Museum, the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, South Carolina Governor’s Blue Ribbon Committee on Conservation Easements and South Carolina Governor’s Blue Ribbon Committee on Tax Incentives for Historic Preservation.

About the South Carolina Aquarium on Charleston Harbor
Over 5 million people have visited the aquarium since it opened on Charleston Harbor in May 2000. The regional attraction has over 60 exhibits that illustrate the life and character of the five major regions of the Appalachian watershed. Highlights currently include Camp Carolina, an interactive, immersion exhibit about the upstate region of South Carolina. According the aquarium website, “The Great Ocean Tank is the largest exhibit in the Aquarium. It extends from the first to the third floor of the Aquarium, holds over 385,000 gallons of water and contains over 450 animals.”
