Join McNair Law Firm attorneys as they present The Expanding ADA: Temporary Impairments, Leave Requests and FMLA/Workers' Comp Interaction. The presentation will cover:

  • How to handle employees with temporary impairments in light of the recent Fourth Circuit decision recognizing that such conditions can qualify as ADA disabilities
  • How to ensure that all potentially appropriate accommodations are considered - including unpaid leave - before determining that accommodating a disability is inappropriate  
  • How to train managers to recognize and refer potential ADA issues to human resources for consistent handling   
  • How to juggle the overlapping requirements of the ADA, FMLA, and workers' compensation laws and create a unified, internally coherent leave policy that provides appropriate guidance to employees and managers alike
