McNair Law Firm announced today that Michael Beal has been selected to lead the firm’s Columbia office.

Michael has been with McNair for more than 25 years and has served in several leadership positions in the firm. In his new role, Michael will oversee Columbia’s administrative, business, governmental affairs and litigation practice groups. The newly combined unit will be the firm’s largest, with nearly 50 attorneys. 

“Michael is an exceptional attorney and a client-centric, business-minded leader,” said Managing Shareholder David Tigges. “He comes into this new role with a very broad and real understanding of McNair’s practices, clients and culture—I am confident the Columbia office will continue to thrive under his leadership.”

Michael practices in the areas of bankruptcy, finance and litigation. He works primarily with financial institutions, distressed companies and committees in out-of court restructurings, Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, and related litigation and transactional matters. In addition to his work with McNair, Michael also serves on the Turnaround Management Association’s Executive Board and Global Board of Trustees. In 2013, he was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®, South Carolina Super Lawyers®, Benchmark Litigation, and Legal Elite of the Midlands.
