McNair Law Firm, P.A. is pleased to announce that it has expanded its intellectual property practice with the addition of Douglas Lineberry, who joins the firm’s Greenville office as Special Counsel.

Doug will focus his practice on litigating intellectual property issues, drafting and prosecuting patents in the pharmaceutical, chemical, mechanical and gaming fields, rendering opinions and validity analyses and obtaining and defending trademark registrations. Additionally, he will assist clients with marketing and branding issues. Doug brings to the firm a wealth of experience in patent and trademark prosecution, including numerous successful examiner interviews that produced rapid and valuable results for clients in both the patent and trademark arenas.   He also has a strong understanding of technologies such as large and small molecule, medical devices, polymers, nonwovens, transport systems, gaming devices, container and slide-locking systems. While his concentration at McNair will be in further expanding his intellectual property practice, Doug is also an experienced business litigator and employment attorney with first chair trial experience.

Doug is actively involved in a number of professional associations. He is a current member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, the Greenville Bar Association and the Carolina Patent, Trademark & Copyright Law Association.

Doug earned a Juris Doctor from Mercer University in 1998 and received both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Emory & Henry College in 1995, graduating summa cum laude. He is licensed to practice law in South Carolina, the U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina, the South Carolina Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
