Overview
Weyman helps creditors resolve nonperforming commercial accounts, whether that resolution is found in a federal bankruptcy court, a South Carolina state court or in an out of court workout. His client’s needs drive his areas of practice. When local municipalities needed help understanding the treatment of tax claims in bankruptcy cases, Weyman’s response was, “I can help”. Prior to attending law school, Weyman served his community as a sheriff’s deputy, where he gained experience building rapport with people from differing backgrounds. Weyman serves the firm and its clients as a member of McNair’s Professionalism Committee.
- Set aside an entry of default in a fraudulent conveyance action brought by a Chapter 7 trustee against a regional bank
- Represented lender in multi-county foreclosure action involving properties with suspected environmental contamination
- Obtained summary judgment for bank in case involving lender liability counterclaims, including claims of duress in workout agreement
- Represented lender in reinstatement of lapsed policy of life insurance pledged as collateral
- Recovered tax refunds owed to bankrupt corporation as general intangibles subject to security interest
- Successfully represented client to have set aside delinquent tax sales of property for mortgagee
- Represented secured creditor in bankruptcy trustee's action to set aside LBO as fraudulent conveyance
